When you take on a plot at NFAS you become a Member of our Community- for this reason there are some basic membership requirements that need to be satisfied and offers to view a plot do not guarantee automatic membership:
our Allotment Society is governed by precise rules to safeguard, among other things, the communal spirit of the allotment and promote cooperation and communication between plotholders. These rules are clearly laid out in our The Rules document and it is of paramount importance that the applicant is able to read, speak and understand English as all tenants are required to sign this document and the contract document that explains the terms of their lease. Moreover, all subsequent communications between tenants members and the committee that runs the Society are conducted in English by email, WhatsApp, Facebook and face to face.
- The applicant must be the intended tenant and cultivator. We do not consider applications made for third parties – viewings of plots and, if successful, a contract will only be offered to the person(/s) whose name is on the application form.
- If the applicant intends to share the cultivation of the plot with another person (Joint Tenancy), both must apply at the same time giving their full name and address.
